MEDIATION TRAINING

Under the new District Court Mediation Act of 1998, family mediators are required to have 40 hours of approved training in addition to 12 house of actual mediation experience to qualify for court ordered or referred cases.                        

Typically mediators get referrals from judges, attorneys, mental health professionals, family councilors  or clergy. An increasing number of professionals are learning to mediate and resolve conflict in order to strengthen the relationship and avoid a lengthy and expensive litigation process.

Training provides opportunity to:

Qualify for inclusion in the list of qualified mediators for court appointed mediation, and distributed to all state court judges by the Oklahoma Academy of Mediators.

Help litigants avoid the costs and risks associated with a  trial.

Assist families to reduce stress and protect children from the ravages of a trial.

Obtain continuing education credits*
