Course to Train Employment Mediators

Tulsa, Oklahoma - June, 15 2007 - As a growing number of Oklahoma businesses resolve matters through in–house or through third party mediation programs, the need for qualified employment mediators continues to grow. Mediation in the Workplace, a course designed to train individuals to mediate employment matters will be held in Tulsa, July 18-20th, 2007.

Business owners throughout Oklahoma are referring employment matters to in house mediation programs or third party mediators in the hope that employees, management and consumers might resolve disputes on a voluntary basis and avoid an expensive legal battle.

 "Mediation can serve as an effective intervention in workplace disputes ranging from discrimination to harassment," says Shelly Kamm, Associate Director of the Institute. Individuals who complete the course will receive a certificate and be qualified to assist in resolving a variety of employment matters.

The Mediation Institute, a private, nonprofit organization that has conducted training across Oklahoma for over fifteen years, sponsors the course.
