Welcome to The Mediation Institute
Mediation is being recognized more and more as a successful mechanism for resolving conflict. Mediation offers all parties an opportunity to resolve their conflicts and disputes prior to taking or continuing costly legal action. In mediation, disputes are managed in a more private setting and in a way that is much more economical and much less time consuming and stressful.
Mediation, also known as conflict resolution is a process in which disputing parties resolve differences with the help of a trained and impartial third party. Mediators guide the parties negotiation process by assisting them to establish goals, develop agreements, discuss parental options, recognize consequences, and improve communication.
The Mediation Institute offers a full range of conflict resolution services utilizing qualified Oklahoma court approved mediators for clients seeking creative solutions to business, family, domestic issues, civil and commercial conflicts.
The Tulsa office provides mediation services in family, workplace and civil matters in a comfortable and private setting. The mediation Institute is one of the only mediation facilities in Oklahoma with offices in both Tulsa and Oklahoma City, with the ability to extend our services to surrounding communities. Our clients consist of private individuals, small and large companies and parties represented or not represented by counsel.
What types of cases can be mediated? Most civil (non-criminal) disputes can be mediated, including those involving divorce, separation, property division, elder care, pre-nuptial, child custody, visitation, contracts, leases, small business ownership, and employment. For example, a divorcing couple might mediate to work out a mutually agreeable child custody agreement and division of property, or estranged business partners might choose mediation to work out an agreement to divide their business. Many couples find mediation as a more economical and expedient alternative to lengthy expensive court battles
Your participation in the mediation process is voluntary. You can leave whenever you like. However, a good mediator will try to help you resolve your concerns to keep you in the mediation process. |
